Don Ruffles has traded since 1979 and was formed as a Limited Company in 1998. The Business started as a Local Office Supplies supplier achieving sales from walk in Shop Trade and Commercial Sales to Local Businesses. 

In the last 10 years the Business began to focus strongly towards Online Sales and increasing the range of products promoted via a number of Specialist websites. As a result the Business has grown organically by well over 200% in the last 5 years, and the client base now includes most of the UK’s Times Top 1000 Businesses and Local and Central Government.

As the Business has grown and became more established this led to an increase in the supply to a number of Larger, High Profile Organisations such as The Royal Households, Ministry of Defence, Prison Services, Ministry of Justice, National Trust etc. Also as the websites become more optimised business has increased internationally, with notable contracts to Military sites in Afghanistan, a number of international Security Services, Presidential Palace in Turkmenistan, export to St Lucia, USA etc.

 

OPERATIONS AND SERVICE

Don Ruffles have produced increasing turnover and returns whilst continuing to develop and launch of new Specialist websites, and improve existing Websites, staying ahead of their Competitors.

Don Ruffles have developed a series of Specialist Websites which produce Online Sales and Prospect Enquiries which have become core to the operation today. Significant time and resource has been spent on Search Engine Optimisation and Search Engine Marketing as it is the Directors view this is where the future growth will be achieved. Orders are primarily received online via the 7 Websites, or dealt with by telesales, email or tender contact where product recommendations are made subsequent to prospect contact.

Orders are also placed directly via fax or mail specifically by Central or Local Government Accounts after the viewing of products online. Contracts for Larger Organisation, for example Ministry of Defence or supplies of product to Branch Networks are dealt with on a Personal basis. Local Stationery and Furniture Customers are visited and managed by one of the Senior Sales Personnel.
